Discover
Mount Wutai
Mount Wutai combines five broad peaks with a remarkable concentration of Buddhist temples. It is a living pilgrimage place associated with Manjushri, where architecture and mountain setting reflect many centuries of practice.
Start in Taihuai for a cluster of temples, then choose one outward excursion according to the season. The plateau’s altitude and changeable conditions make a slower two- or three-day visit more rewarding than a single hurried stop.
