Choose Wuzhen or Xitang for depth before deciding to visit both. An overnight stay changes the experience, allowing time beyond the busiest daytime hours. Restored visitor districts coexist with the wider towns, so the guide’s context matters.
Spring and autumn are comfortable; rain can be atmospheric but makes stone paths slippery. Holidays are busy.

These are separate water-town visits with different layouts and visitor atmospheres. Choose one for an overnight stay instead of rushing through both for similar bridge photographs.
